STANDARDS-BASED TEACHING:

Danielson Framework

Domain 1: Planning and Preparation

Planning & Preparation: Effective teachers take time to coherently plan and design their lessons. When designing lessons they keep in mind their knowledge of content and students to guide their pedagogical approaches. With differentiated instruction, the variety of assessments designed would keep the students' learning needs in mind and align with the learning segments to demonstrate student understanding (Danielson, 2013).

Domain 2: The Classroom Environment

The Classroom Environment: Effective teachers make sure their space is organized in a way that is best suitable for student learning. The organization of the space and the development of classroom routines and rules help engage student learning in a safe and inclusive environment. An effective teacher's classroom environment is filled with respect and rapport amongst everyone. Managing classroom procedures and student behavior  helps to create a positive environment that is suitable for learning (Danielson, 2013).

Domain 3: Instruction

When entering a classroom of an effective teacher you can expect to see all students engaged in learning. Effective teachers communicate coherently to ensure students' engagement and understanding of learning episodes. To accomplish this, a teacher must use an array of questions and discussion techniques, and be flexible and responsive in instruction to accommodate student needs (Danielson, 2013).
